Mr George Teo, a Business Design Associate and Course Chair for Diploma in Business Innovation and Design, received his Bachelor of Business Administration from NUS and his Master of Science in International Marketing from Strathclyde University in 2002. He received his Master of Arts in Professional Education ( Learning and Training ) with NIE in 2019 and was a participant of Digital Marketing Strategy in Harvard Extension School (June 17- June 21, 2019). George has been an educator with the Singapore Polytechnic since 2000. He was awarded the Excellence in Teaching Award in 2007, Singapore Polytechnic Educator Award in 2018 and the President’s Award for Teachers in 2018. He was award the National Day award—Commendation Medal 2019.He is a certified Emotional Quotient (EQ) coach; and a Design Thinking Trainer trained by the Rotman School of Design Thinking methodology. He has integrated both EQ and DT into his teaching and used the business design skills with his students in their projects with clients such as Gongcha, Elitez, Staple society and etc. He has conducted service innovation workshops for industry clients including Tianjin Maritime (China) College, DHL, Dairy Farm, Sheraton Tower, and IAL. He played instrumental role in a project with NTUC, sponsored by the Singapore Tourism Board where he worked with the hotel industry to uncover skills gaps in the sector using Design Thinking tools. He was also a facilitator that involved in few Hospitality ABC Network such as --MAKE Multi-Functional work teams work to deliver Guest-centred service & experience

I was formally trained as a Design Thinking Trainer under the Rotman School of Design Thinking methodology, and had completed numerous projects using the 3 gears of Business Design. He is also awarded WDA Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (Facilitated Learning). Currently, I am pursing Master of Professional Education with NIE.
