I started my technical career back in the early 80’s (!), and over the years have developed a deep background in systems and network engineering and IT management. I have been a systems administrator, an IT manager, a CTO - and most recently and most importantly - the founder of ITSco: a trusted and trustworthy IT Services company that has become my life’s work. I truly enjoy technical challenges. But even more than that, I enjoy helping people – and the satisfaction that comes with a job well done. I have worked successfully with a wide variety of customers in high-growth mode and I pride myself in being a creative problem solver who is high impact and low maintenance. A team builder and team player - who can organize, communicate and motivate. As Assistant Director of the Infrastructure Organization, I helped to organize, manage and mentor the team that is responsible for architecting, deploying and supporting the AWS infrastructure for this exciting technology company.

Acting as a vCIO, my focus was on grooming internal resources and growing an IT infrastructure and a DevOps team capable of supporting high-traffic, e-commerce web-sites. As part of that effort, we implemented an agile development process which included automated functional and load testing of applications, built a robust IT organization capable of 24x7 support, and architected a scalable, supportable and secure infrastructure to support both internal functions and externally facing websites.

While Tekelec was growing from a few hundred to 1000+ employees, I built a team of 15+ ITSco consultants to help support the design, deployment and customer acceptance procedures for Tekelec’s first open-systems telecommunications platforms. We delivered this application and platform (Local Number Portability) to many of the largest service providers in the country representing carriers that were serving over 750 million (combined) subscribers. Our teams helped to seed and grow the entire in-house, open-systems ecosystem at Tekelec during it’s most dramatic growth cycle, including: systems engineering, network engineering, systems deployment and integration, documentation, project management and customer support.

While Imonics expanded from 50 to 450 employees in 2 years - I built a team of 40+ system and network engineers to architect, deploy and support large-scale, multi location electronic data-storage systems to house medical/insurance records.
