Treasurer is my Volunteer "job". I've been a Richard III "Nut" since 1973.I also keep busy with tennis, bicycling, reading, listening to music and taking online courses. I haven't had any unplanned free time since I retired in 2012.

Very active in managing chapter elections and modifying chapter by-laws.

In my major tasking I provided system security evaluation and certification services to Department of Defense agencies in the area of cryptographic key management and identity verification. I also provided similar services occasionally to civilian agencies. My major clients were NSA and DC3.

Information System Security consultant to Drug Enforcement Administraton.

Managed the development of advanced printing and mailing systems used in making and reporting payments by FMS on the behalf of federal agencies.

Project Manager for the Electronic Certifying System (ECS) rollout to agencies requesting payments to be made by FMS. The ECS was a secure payment system that verified the identity and authorization of the officer requesting the payment. The system also verified that the request had not been altered once electronically signed by the agency's certifying officer.

Project Manager for the development of an Electronic Signature system to certify the identity of Certification Officers requesting disbursement of funds on their behalf by FMS.

Worked with USDA scientists to advise them on issues related to automating their collection and processing of data gathered from their biological subjects. This often involved the independent development of new sensors, computer interfaces and instrumentation required to collect that data. It also often required working with vendors of instrumentation to have them modify their systems to perform the tasks needed by the scientists.

I worked in all aspect of magnetic mine warfare, but attack and mine defense. I was responsible for development and testing of components of magnetic mines and other ordnance. I worked closely with the companies producing the components and the NSWC project manager overseeing the project or program.As a member of the NSWC Research Department I was involved in two programs. I was the project manager on the development, installation and test of an underwater electromagnetic range used to measure the signatures of naval vessels. The signatures were used to develop mine defense systems. I later worked on projects to develop and test infrared optics systems used in anti-missle defense.

I was in charge of the Magnetic Field facility, a complex of four non-magnetic buildings containing magnetic sensor arrays and magnetic field generating equipment. I also tested equipment for use on board Naval ships to counteract the induction of magnet fields caused by the earth's magnetic field. I worked with contractors to develop and test magnetometers, gradiometers and coil systems to be used in magnetic field measurement and generation.

50% of my time was at sea collecting geomagnetic and gravity data. I was responsible for the care and deployment of towed magnetometers, preliminary processing, recording and charting data, and maintenance of the on-board magnetometer processing electronics. Back in the office I was responsible for processing the data and constructing the final charts and reports.
