After various leadership positions with Kinder Morgan, I am currently an officer of KMI and head of Market Services for the largest energy infrastructure and Midstream company in North America, reporting directly to the President and CEO of KMI Gas Pipeline Group. Oversee geographically dispersed direct reports in Chicago, Houston, Birmingham, and Colorado Springs. Holds accountability for coordinating various corporate GHG reduction strategy working groups, chairing the corporations clean technology sub-group, in addition to directing opportunities for internal energy transition teams, all related strategy, fundamental analysis, and analytical infrastructure in support of the commercial organizations for all gas transportation, storage, and midstream activity (regulated and unregulated; interstate and intrastate) for the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Provided advisory input to Vesmir Inc. senior management team to ensure that the organization’s mission of developing a profitable start-up was carried out in an efficient and profitable manner. As the business matured, I assisted the CEO in developing several successful exit strategies. I also provided key advice to the board about deal structures, and made sure they were aware of the motivations and terms of any potential M&A transaction; provide the right advice and perspective to senior management to fulfil their principal responsibility of protecting and enhancing the value of all stakeholders involved. The company was successfully sold in December of 2020.Vesmir Inc. is a technology company in the energy space that developed PetroDE which combines analytics, situational awareness, and collaboration to facilitate rapid decisions. It has highly advanced search capabilities as well as the ability to display Monte Carlo statistics, charts, maps and user created annotations on a secure communication platform. Proprietary data and presentation ready displays are stored in the cloud, making it easily accessible for all team members around the globe.

Recruited to build a robust analytical infrastructure to support the pricing, structuring, and analysis of commercial strategies, and deliver strategic recommendations to improve and streamline NextEra Energy’s portfolio of merchant power generation assets, including the adoption of renewable generation, in both the short and long term. Leveraged deep knowledge of modeling real asset risk, electric generation assets, full requirements, storage, pipeline transportation, and other derivative structures using techniques including Value-at-Risk (VaR), option pricing, and Monte Carlo simulations. Reported directly to the President of Commodities & Retail Markets with dotted line responsibility to the Exposure Management Committee of NextEra Energy.

After various senior geoscience and commercial positions, I was recruited by the corporate CFO to direct the development, structuring, implementation, and execution of a comprehensive risk management program for Shell U.S. to manage both foreign currency exposures resulting from the company’s worldwide operations, and interest rate sensitivity of the company’s debt and investments in interest rate swaps and marketable securities. Other responsibilities include building relations with counterparties, brokers, and third party data providers.
