For the last 30 years, I have worked as a freelance leadership coach and management consultant. Before that, I qualified as a teacher, managed a re-training programme for young offenders in central London, worked as a senior training advisor for the British Government on national training and education initiatives, trained teachers, trainers and consultants, completed a Ph.D. in management and education and won recognition in the British National Training Awards. As you might imagine, I have an abiding passion for helping people to learn. The focus of my work is leadership development, I help organisations and individuals to find a leadership approach that suits their needs and builds on their experience and expertise. In leadership, one size does not fit all. The leadership priorities of a head of department in a hotel are very different from those of a director working in a manufacturing or distribution company. The position individuals hold in their organisation’s hierarchy, their responsibilities, industry, experience, skills and personality must all be considered when designing a leadership development programme that will significantly improve their performance.
