George William has moved into a full-time role as Educate!'s lead government relations specialist in Kenya. He drives Education Policy Strategy Design and Implementation with a focus on Curriculum Reforms through building coalitions between the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development, Teachers Service Commission, Kenya National Examination Council and the State Department for Early Learning and Basic Education at the Ministry of Education.

George William leads Policy and Training in the conceptualization and actualization of Community Service Learning as a learning area by the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development and Educate! Prior to this engagement, he was the Instructional Design and Policy Specialist at Educate! based in Nairobi, Kenya. He managed Education Policy alignments and Learning Experience Design in the Educate! Experience and the National Program leveraging years of experience in different international curricula to advise the government on curriculum, design, teacher training initiatives, and school management practices that prepare youth in Africa to graduate with the skills to succeed in today’s economy. His work helps to tackle youth unemployment by partnering with schools and governments to reform what schools teach and how they teach it so that students in Africa have the skills to start businesses, get jobs, and drive development in their communities. Formerly George was the Curriculum Development and Training Manager at the Helix Institute of Digital Finance at MicroSave Financial Inclusion Consulting where he led a team of subject matter specialists in designing and delivering world-class training in strategic operations for banks, telecoms, and third-party providers globally; leveraging research from the Agent Network Accelerator (ANA) program which conducted large-scale quantitative research on Agent Networks (bank and mobile money agents) in key countries in Africa and South Asia.George was also the Staff Professional Development Manager at Khartoum Foundation for Private Education (Sudan). George Attended the School of Education at Egerton University, receiving a bachelor's degree in Agricultural Education and Extension. He is a pioneer graduate of the Digital Frontiers Institute Certificate in Digital Money from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University.

George William is the Design and Policy Manager at Educate! based in Nairobi, Kenya. He manages Learning Experience Design and Education Policy alignment driving reform in classrooms across the country using Educate!'s Leadership and Entrepreneurship Course and Skills Lab. Educate! provides youth with skills training in leadership, entrepreneurship and workforce readiness, along with mentorship, to start real businesses at school. The model is delivered through practically-trained teachers and empowered youth mentors. ​'' Educate! works to transform education in Africa to teach youth the skills to solve poverty. We directly implement our model in schools and partner with governments for education reforms, reaching more than 14,000 students intensively across 500 schools in Uganda and Rwanda, and more than 240,000 students more broadly. Developing and or customizing training material and programs in collaboration with the Helix Institute of Digital Finance and the broader MicroSave team as well as international consultants based on the key outlined areas; Managing training administration and logistics with support from the training coordinator; training on the outlined programs as is guided by the Principal Consultant; support development of other staff by providing guidance and advice where appropriate.

Responsibilities:• Planning, developing and monitoring the delivery of curriculum taking note of the stated objectives.• Advising the Deputy Head of school (Dean Academics) on the quality of subject delivery in class.• Updating schemes of work and checking the records of work regularly to ensure uniformity in teaching.• Coordinating flow of information relating to subject development and teaching resources.• Organizing regular department meetings and conferences with the departmental teachers.• Organizing workshops for subject development and improvement.• Promoting project work, scholastic quizzes, field trips related to their subjects.• Responsible for departmental paper setting, quality of questions, mark schemes, marking and moderation of school internal examinations. Checking typed exam papers for any errors.• Routine review of term progress in subject area and advising teachers on the strategies for improvement.• Keeping abreast with any changes in the curriculum and advising the department accordingly.• Appraisal of teacher performance in the Science Department by: - Objective setting and rating.- Evaluating the overall performance of a teacher and discussing the outcome with the teacher.- Identifying areas of weakness and working out a development plan for teachers to work on.• Teaching up to 26 lessons.• Perform any other duties assigned by the Head of School from time to time.
