Dr. Woods is the recipient of the 2018 Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of Utah Medical Center, the first psychiatrist ever selected. He was the Keynote Speaker for the 2023 White Coat Ceremony at his alma mater. Dr. Woods also received the Historical Prixe from the University of Milan in July 2019. He is currently President of the International Academy of Law and Mental Health, being asked to return to this position for the second time in 6 years. From 2017 through 2019, he served as Secretary General to the International Academy of Law and Mental Health during its amalgamation with the Institute of Ethics, Medicine, and Public Health at the Sorbonne, Paris, France. George has worked with legal teams dealing with complex criminal and civil litigation. He has also worked with Vulcan Industries, Microsoft, Forefront Telehealth, and Walmart.among other companies, on psychometrically and culturally competent employment procedures. He is Neurosciences Advisor to NextLevelWork, a leader in advanced coaching for all levels of management. On October 1st, 2019, Dr. Woods was appointed to the Governing Board of the Stanford University Medicare Shared Services Program(MSSP) University Health Alliance Accountable Care Organization, LLC. He was appointed as one of the Stanford Medical Partners Board's Community Directors in 2023, and is a member of SMP's Audit, Compliance, and Enterprise Risk Committee. He is a member of Oakland's Roots Community Health Center's Board of Director's Finance Committee . On March 12th, 2021, Dr. Woods was appointed to the American Psychiatric Association(APA)'s and the Morehouse School of Medicine (MSM)’s SAMHSA Center of Excellence (CoE), focused on African American Behavioral Health (AABH) Disparities. He is the Board Chair for the Felton Institute, which provides outpatient behavioral health services to 80,000 persons over 6 Bay Area counties. Crestwood Behavioral Health appointed Dr. Woods as Chief Scientific Officer on March 30, 2021, the first in the company's history.
