Member of the UK economics practice focusing on regulation and competition issues. The focus of my recent work has been in the health sector, where I have worked closely with the Department of Health, Monitor (where I am currently on secondment), the CCP and a number of NHS and Foundation Trusts.

Leading the strategy work around Monitor's new role in the pricing of NHS services (the £65bn question). This includes leading a small team of five people on work principally focused on costing, pricing methodology.

George Batchelor is a consultant in the competition practice at NERA Economic Consulting. Since joining NERA, he has worked on a range of antitrust and regulation matters where he has built extensive experience in a number of different sectors including retail, distribution, manufacturing and transport. Mr Batchelor has particular expertise with large datasets, econometric modelling and analysis, which he has used in a range of cases including: UK Competition Act, EC Merger Regulations, Article 81 and Article 82. Mr Batchelor also contributes to the Global Antitrust Weekly, a NERA publication.Mr Batchelor was educated at Cardiff University, where he obtained a First Class Honours degree in Economics, and University College London, where he completed an MSc in Economics. George has holds a postgraduate diploma, with merit, in EC competition law from King's College London.
