I am currently working with business and technology stakeholders leading the enablement of Transamerica’s digital platform, fueling the organization’s digital transformation.

Accountable for the architecture, implementation and evangelism of the platform. Key responsibilities include leading the team through the capture of the future state capabilities and the corresponding technical architecture, ensuring both the architecture and implementation align to Transamerica’s digital core architecture principles including: cloud first, cost optimized (agile, open source, CI/CD), microservices based, context aware, secure, event driven, and data driven.

Responsible for the realization and delivery of the customer database and the control panel (call center support application). The customer database is an aggregation of customer data on 26 disparate administration systems (systems of record) to gain insight into the complete view of a customer's relationship with Transamerica. Additionally responsible for multiple projects consuming the data. Highlights include:Key contributor to the vision, architecture and agile delivery of Transamerica’s secure microservice based platform used to service our customers.Architected and coded (Java, Spring Boot) the Customer Reference microservice to handle all requests to the Customer Data base. The Customer Reference Service is the focal service that provides a customer snapshot and their entire relationship with Transamerica.Led the data engineering team through the implementation of the customer data base (Db2, Informatica) including strategies such as insert only, key-value pairs, and batch roll back.Led the software engineering and testing teams through the design and delivery of Control Panel, Transamerica's customer support application (angularjs, Java, Spring, Camel, Docker, AWS).

Responsible for leading the Build organization, consisting of three software development teams and one quality assurance team, for all application development and quality assurance activities. Teams are responsible for multiple web properties including tampabay.com and politifact.com. Additionally teams are responsible for all software that enable the daily production and delivery of the Tampa Bay Times newspaper as well as all back office applications. Major achievements include:Rebuilt the New Product Development team, consisting of Java developers and a UI developer, to create MyEdition, a personalized version of tampabay.com. This project was implemented using the Scrum methodology. MyEdition is a major step forward toward further monetization of tampabay.com.Established the Data Delivery team and led the team through the prototyping and eventual selection of a light weight ESB tool.Established the Quality Assurance team and instituted basic quality standards, processes, and automation. The impact of the team was immediately felt by a significant reduction in failed production releases and fewer production defects.Led team through the process of discovering mobile application development. This included architecture, tool selection, and a full functioning prototype.

Refocused a team of software engineering professionals by organizing their daily work through implementation of a simplified Kanban methodology. This enabled the team to understand priorities, increase productivity, and improve quality and customer service.

Responsible for leading a team of innovative .NET (C#) software engineers who created cutting-edge technology solutions to enable the $1.5B revenue that flows through techdata.com annually.Successfully led multiple eBusiness teams through Tech Data’s ERP conversion from DCS to SAP. This eighteen month project included redesigning techdata.com to interact with a new and significantly different ERP system while attempting to keep the customer experience unchanged.

Responsible for building and leading a team of project managers, business analysts and software engineers who design, develop and maintain a high volume, high transaction (30 million transactions per day, > 1000 concurrent users), loan origination and loan processing platform based on the .NET Framework (C#).

Responsible for the transformation of Nortel’s global enterprise e-commerce configuration tools into a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) solution utilizing the .NET Framework.

Led the US based team of software engineers on the global development effort (VB6, Prolog) of the sales and engineering tools for Nortel's suite of Meridian products.

Designed and maintained GSM/PCS wireless telephony switching software (PLEX, real time programming/computing). Responsible for Gateway Roaming Interrogation software including analysis, design, coding, and testing for a public cellular network.
