As Vice President Eastern Canada my mandate is to manage the day to day operations and long term strategies of the Eastern Canada facilities. My scope of work deals with Sales and Business Development, Customer Service, Information Technology and Operations of two facilities in the Greater Toronto Area of approximately 350,000 SQFT and support for our Western Canada Facilities of approximately 200,000 SQFT in the Greater Vancouver Area.Our company thrust is to grow our large eCommerce division while developing more automation of the process. We warehouse and distribute for many large international companies which has given us the ability to develop our courier business within our transportation department.We can offer end to end services for our partners and are always welcoming new adventures!

I did this by analyizing and reviewing current operations, interviewing and getting hands on with employees as well as communication with clients to determine their staisfaction levels. After investigating all levels it was determined that there were many operational bottle-necks ranging from proccesses, staff and senior management which was impacting their profitability and risking the loss of clientale. I was able to quantify the financial impact to the company as well as putting together a correction plan for immediate action.

As the Senior Manager I was responsible for the day to day operations of several distribution locations across North America, as well as new facility design and startup. My main role was to design a facility and distribution solutions for clientele from all over the world. The main focus was to streamline their supply chain and facility network in order to decrease operational costs. The next step would be to help the client to implement a change management program to help the company progress forward. I secured the property and acting as the project lead I designed, built and implementated a 110,000 square foot facility. I used current customer base information to design a raking and flow program, then in conjunction with IT I help modify the warehouse management system. Then hired and trained staff for the eventual opening of the facility. Within 3 months the facility was full with a targeted profitability of 20+ percent.

As operations manager at Joanne fabrics my main focus was the procurement of goods worldwide while managing a facility of different divisions to ensure the flow of operations. I was responsible for team building and solution management for current business models and future clients. I determined what her career goals were then mentored her into a top notch customer service representative and now she is a senior buyer and still thriving in her new role.

As the senior manager I was responsible for warehousing, logistics and transportation in Ontario and Eastern Canada. I was tasked with running a lean operation in order to increase profitability. Having a team of unique individual that I supported we were able to grow the business in a short time frame while increasing customer service levels. As a result we received many customer recommendations and through those recommendations we grew the business. One of my success was defining, validating and modifying site costing model. A true cost model never been developed for this site. In reviewing past operational costs (fixed and non-fixed), staffing costs and miscellanious costs I was able to put together a tru cost P&L analysis for this site. Once done I was effectively able to create a proper annual operating budget as well as a customer rate tarrif. This allowed for the proper selling of services and providing better cost controls.

As a consultant we were heavily involved in mediation for Federal and Provincial Governments regarding Aboriginal affairs and Department of Fisheries and Oceans concerns. As a government liaison we chaired meetings, acted as arbitrators and prepared governmental reports. We were tasked with information gathering using various methods and determining root causes then presenting solutions for short and long term goals.- Consultation and mediation to Federal and Provincial Governments- Preparation of license applications - Advise and prepare consumer reports- Acquisition of contracts and products

As the senior manager I was tasked with the daily operations of product procurement and manufacturing. Communication and transparency were the main focuses in this position, dealing with many ontractors and public perception were the main challenges. I was responsible for meeting the annual harvesting budget of $50,000,000 while managing 100+ employees. The employees were independent contractors; therefore this required a different management style. I was able to motivate them by ensuring they had the right tool to complete the job as well as good communication and mentoring. Through my successful management of the employees I was able to meet the company’s budget every year. Due to this position being high profile and always in the public eye, my due diligence and communication skills had to be superior. I had constant communication with the government and public groups which I fostered and created many working relationships in order to complete daily operations and comply all regulations.

As a manager I was responsible for the day to day operations of the facilities and multiple work sites. My main function was to ensure that daily operation got completed with union and non-union crews. Safety was the biggest priority as dealing with heavy equipment in all weather conditions always poses a challenge. I was also involved with the creation of annual operating plans, they were written as a requirement of operating on government property, these plans were scrutinized by many departments of municipal, provincial and federal governments before approved and implemented. I was able to get these plans approved by reviewing and cooperating with government departments.
