After graduating from university I began my year out by moving to Melbourne. Here I began my full-time tennis coaching role at VTA. Here I worked around 40 hours per week with all ages and abilities, all the way from 4 year old beginners to adult performance players. I grew massively as a coach and many important skills such as communication and organisation were enhanced.

The role of data entry involved analysing and recording data during live matches. This has helped me to gain huge expertise on sport statistics and proved that I am able to work quickly and accurately under intense time pressures, all while watching ATP-tour level tennis. It was an incredible experience with the “happy slam” definitely living up to its name. I am thrilled to be invited back again for AO 2025 and can’t wait to return!

At the end of June I worked with IBM as a statistics data collector at the Wimbledon Qualifiers in Roehampton as well as at The Wimbledon Championships. Building on the experience I gained with ISG over the previous two summers, the Arup placement has given me a greater perspective and understanding of the role consultants hold in the successful delivery of projects. It also allowed me to experience the next phase of delivery of the regeneration around Cardiff Central Station - Central Quay.

I returned to The Interchange for my second summer placement with ISG, which had now finished the majority of concrete framework and groundworks, moving onto the façade and fit out. I assisted the site managers with:- checking steel reinforcement placement against consultant drawings- coordination of BWIC drawings - setting out of BWIC holes on site - helping organise core-seal (diamond drillers) - accompanying site inspections

Summer placement with ISG at their flagship project 'The Interchange'. It is creating a state of the art bus station for the city, along with over 100,000 sq ft of new grade A office space and over 300 apartments. I assisted the site managers with:- checking the placing of steel reinforcement against consultant drawings- setting out and levelling - overall site coordination - cast-in plate organisation and distribution - coordinating pre-pour inspection forms and as-built surveys
