I worked in the classification team developing Automated Victim, our crawler that primarily fills in forms across the web to detect phishing and other kinds of malicious sites. It forms part of the company’s wider goal - to perform automated cybercrime disruption at a global scale.

I was working in the depths of a monolith codebase in PHP. I got a better understanding overall of how the company and development teams work, as well as the process to get from customer request to feature rollout. We used Git and CI pipelines to ensure safe and tested code.

I developed an application on the internal tools team to help analysts collate feedback for SMEs of any interesting finds they come across. The aim was to simplify an analyst's workflow to be more efficient. At the end of my internship, I did a presentation on my work to multiple internal development teams of 30+ people, answering questions anyone had.

I was the first intern at the company pre-university, as well as the first ever intern to have code approved into production tooling. I quickly progressed from the core development team to assist in a new product. It was great building a real world project for real customers, giving me a first-hand experience of working as part of an enterprise software.
