This team was created so that a more coordinated and focused response, for this market sector, would be more advantageous for both the customer and for Siemens. The team comprised of sales heads from each of Siemens divisions and had complete responsibility for the whole Siemens portfolio for UK projects in Energy from Waste, Biomass, Biogas and Anaerobic Digestion markets. With a focus on the consultative sales approach meaning significant emphasis on the monetising of the value proposition. This was achieved by looking at the life cycle costs and not just the initial Capital Costs there by showing the value of focusing on the maintenance, service and operation as well as the initial design and build phases. Using financial tools such as IRR and ROI to help monetise these propositions and show the value of their implementation. Challenged to bring together the whole Siemens portfolio so that Siemens was presented to the customer as one seamless organisation. This required a high degree of effective communication between different countries where the supply chain resided. The Siemens portfolio was very wide and extensive with a primary focus on Digitalisation and IoT which changed the sale strategy to accommodate the Cloud and Edge technologies and selling solutions such as Software as a Service (SaaS)Also acting as the key focal point and thought leader for Siemens in this sector. Writing articles for the market specific press and presented at multiple events, including an all parliamentary group at the Houses of Parliament.
