Inspectorate is a multinational group with capabilities in an extensive range of commodities, providing independent inspection, sampling and testing services. Inspectorate’s network of laboratories, located around the world, provide precision analytical testing to both internationally recognized standards and customer-specific methodologies. Testing and inspection services are provided across a broad range of industries, including agriculture, chemicals, marine, metals, mining, and oil and gas. Inspectorate was acquired by Bureau Veritas in 2010.✰ Directing a team of technical managers, I supervise the service and support of 36 laboratories in the United States, and Northern and Southern Latin America, to provide technical support and service for laboratory instrumentation and equipment.I work with marketing, sales, and our customers in the deployment of new analytical instruments from development to implementation as we expand Inspectorate America’s product line.New analytical test methods, including those designed to test petroleum and petrochemicals, are under my supervision, and my teams provide laboratory hardware, software, and method training during installation and with follow up support.In addition, I play a critical role on the laboratory services team that ensures lab operation safety while producing high-quality products and maintaining profitability.Key accomplishments:■ Configured and installed more than 52 gas chromatographs, including more than12 gas chromatograph – mass spectrometers ■ Developed and managed Inspectorate America’s EPA/CARB reformulated gasoline alternate method correlation monthly reports for four years.■ Developed two Inspectorate test methods which were subsequently published as ASTM standard methods – ASTM D7423 and ASTM D7845

From auditing and inspection, to testing, training, and certification, Intertek focuses on customers’ products, assets and processes to meet end users’ expectations for safety, sustainability, performance, integrity and desirability worldwide. ✰ My role included providing technical support and service for gas chromatographic methods including development of test methods for online gas chromatographic analysis of a process unit. The work required sampling system and test method parameters. I held the initial responsibility for managing the Gas Chromatography Department at the Deer Park Technical Center in Houston, Texas. Responsibilities included purchase, configuration, method development, operation and method documentation for project test equipment.Key accomplishments:■ Implemented new gas chromatographic test methods at the Deer Park Technical Center;■ Deer Park department with a staff of five technicians and one chemist realized high level of profit during my tenure.

Wasson-ECE Instrumentation is a world leader in gas chromatography assisting customers with sampling, service, and support. Method development and leading edge gas chromatography applications are the company’s primary focus. Wasson-ECE applications are developed on Agilent Technologies GC platforms.✰ I cultivated new business in U.S. Gulf Coast area and Northern Mexico with product lines that included laboratory gas chromatographs, process online gas chromatographs, gas chromatographic sampling systems, and gas chromatographic software configuration. As part of my job, I provided technical support for gas chromatographic method instrument sales, installed gas chromatographs both with and without mass spectrometers, and provided onsite customer training for all applications.

Now known as LyondellBasell, the company is one of the world’s premier plastics, chemicals and refining companies producing materials essential to new innovations in electronics, food packaging, construction materials, automotive components, motor fuels, textiles, and medical supplies.✰ I oversaw the purchase, configuration, method development, operation, and method documentation of test equipment required for my projects in the analytical support laboratory. Implementing the development of new analytical methods based on gas chromatographic instrumentation, I provided process engineering support for off-specification product problem solving using gas chromatographic methods and other analytical techniques.Working with a process engineering research and development team, I was an integral part in developing the butane isomerization process and bench scale online gas chromatographic and sampling systems for the project.I also developed a novel pilot plant online analyzer sampling system for Lyondell at the ARCO Exploration and Production Technical Center in Plano, Texas, and developed and implemented numerous confidential gas chromatographic test methods for the Channelview, Texas laboratory.

Polymer technologists at Shell’s Westhollow Research Center provide support to a variety of commercial polymer activities, including development and marketing of products, such as polypropylene and random copolymer technical support for customers, technical guidance and recommendations on polymer additives.✰ For the Shell Development Company, I conducted projects related to the production and application of polypropylene.Experiments I conducted focused on catalyst activity, catalyst morphology, polymer synthesis, polymer morphology, additive formulations, and polymer physical property evaluations.My responsibilities included the purchase, configuration, operation and method documentation for project test equipment.
