Created a SaaS platform for schools across the world to encourage positive action in their students using a unique token economy approach. Pioneered in the digital currency space focussing on social impact and positive behaviour change. More than 4million 11-18 year old students have used the VivoClass.com platform and 1 in 3 secondary schools in the UK and Australia.

Co-founded leading global enterprise marketplace and auction platform. The business has gone on to win several major clients, including Christies and Manchester City FC, operating globally across multiple verticals including finance, automobiles and natural resources raising more than £10m to date from investors.

After meeting an Investor relations team at a FTSE 25 company to discuss a tech solution to a problem they were facing I quickly understood there was an opportunity to build a platform that solved their particular issues and could do the same for other companies like them. The platform we built is now used by 30 FTSE100 companies and is steadily becoming the industry standard for consensus data. Having brought in an experienced team to grow the business I am now a passive shareholder.

Working closely with the founder I helped to develop the business into a highly regarded PHP studio with an incubator arm that has and continues to invest in and support several exciting start ups.

Whilst technically still being my own boss consulting over the previous year I missed the challenge of building something from scratch and decided to start looking around for opportunities to create a new business or get involved with something very early stage. I ended up joining a startup operating in the online share trading space. Helping this business to grow with limited resource was great fun and along the way I got to meet some talented people who shared the same passion for business as me and would later go on to become business partners in other ventures.

I spent the next few years consulting on e-commerce projects and developing online strategies for several large UK companies. Whilst technically still being my own boss I missed the challenge of building something from scratch and decided to start looking around for opportunities to create a new business or get involved with something very early stage.

As an eager 21 year old looking for a job I realised the web could make the process much easier. Back then industry specific job boards weren’t established so I set about creating one myself – Jobzone.com. Two years later Jobzone was sold to an AIM quoted competitor Rex Online PLC who absorbed our client base and wound down the platform…my first taste of business. With the online recruitment industry in its infancy I noticed an opportunity to build a b2b platform that centred around the vacancy itself rather than the candidate. I built a business plan and team, produced a prototype and went on the hunt for funding. A Swiss VC backed by HP and Credit Suisse bit and after some intense due diligence in Zurich the investment was agreed. Then the dot com boom turned to bust and like so many others at that time the investment was pulled at the last minute. A blow at the time but the experience taught me a lot and left me hungry for more.
