■ Retained by the new Syracuse Media Group and named to the team designated to transition The Post-Standard newspaper to a new production schedule, new InDesign- and SaxoTech-based page-production software and reduced staffing on production desk.■ Designated a computer "super user," responsible for training other page producers on the new computer software and helping them to quickly and efficiently produce attractive pages.■ Worked with employees of Advance Digital to develop new formats and styles for newspaper's calendars, sports scoreboard and other listings.■ Work directly with lead sports content curator on short- and long-term direction and presentation of sports section.■ Responsible for all aspects of day-to-day production of sports and news pages, including A-1; duties include designing pages, selecting and editing stories, writing headlines, checking facts, proofreading pages and managing workflow and page output to ensure deadlines are met.

■ Served as primary online editor/content producer for sports report on newspaper's website, Syracuse.com.■ Oversaw development and growth of online fan Q&As for Syracuse sports, serving as moderator and featured participant during in-game and post-game Syracuse University basketball and football Q&As; trained reporters to host weekly online fan chats.■ Gave presentations to community groups about how they could get their news and information into the newspaper and onto the website. When contentious issues were raised at these talks, such as coverage of specific stories or the negative tone of some comments on the website, I was able to keep the discussion respectful, constructive and pleasant.■ Day-to-day duties included management of site's sports content; editing and preparing stories for website publication; compiling and writing aggregation posts; generating and implementing ideas for reader interaction; working with sports editor and reporters to improve daily online report and plan short- and long-term online initiatives; assisting in social media efforts; writing, editing and broadcasting a daily news podcast; managing entire site on weekends.

■ Responsible for all aspects of editing, design and production for Post-Standard's award-winning weekly zoned community news publication, Neighbors, with separate editions for the city of Syracuse, four suburban areas and Oswego, Madison and Cayuga counties.■ Produced numerous special sections, including Summertime, Wintertime and Autumntime seasonal event guides as well as the annual College Choices section targeted to prospective college students and parents.■ Part of the team that developed an expanded online presence for the Eastern Onondaga County edition of Neighbors, as part of a hyperlocal initiative by The Post-Standard. Edited and posted relevant local content to the East Neighbors page at Syracuse.com; created and curated a social media presence via Facebook and Twitter.■ Served as vacation fill-in bureau chief for Madison County, Oswego County and Cayuga County news bureaus.
