I have a passion for brands with longevity, purpose and breadth. Laacke & Joys is such a brand. I believe that creativity, design, and manufacturing are the U.S.A.'s core competencies and competitive advantage on a world scale. I joined Laacke & Joys to help bridge the gap between product development and production manufacturing and to do my part to ensure that the USA stays on top.

As CEO at Brooks Stevens, I developed partnerships and championed new intellectual property opportunities that benefited our company and our partners. I helped clients design, engineer and launch products in the consumer, medical, commercial and industrial markets for over 20 years. After a successful sale and exit of Brooks Stevens, I am now exploring new opportunities.

Ultimately responsible for the company's financial stability and evolution, always being mindful of our vision, strategies and goals.

In 2007, Ingenium Product Development acquired Brooks Stevens Design and became... the new Brooks Stevens, Inc. I discovered the opportunity and helped broker the deal. Brooks Stevens, the man, was a pioneer in the field of Industrial Design, but more importantly, one of the first to approach Product Development holistically. Brooks Stevens, the company, has developed thousands of products generating Billions of dollars in revenue since 1934. I wore many hats, but focused on business development… building true partnerships with clients while helping them develop successful products efficiently.

We changed our company name to "Ingenium Product Development" in 2004 as we had evolved into a full-service Product Development firm. My responsibilities became more focused on project management and business development.

Specializing in high-end solid modeling and engineering simulation (CAD, FEA, CFD, MBS), I helped bring product ideas to reality for our clients. I managed projects teams consisting of PEI associates as well as client associates with great success. Being one of the principals of the company, I was also responsible for business development. Working with companies like Harley-Davidson, Briggs & Stratton, and John Deere, Progressive Engineering quickly made a name for itself in the Midwest, growing to a $4M engineering service business by 2004.

I left PTC to gain real application experience with my newfound CAD skills. I started in the CAE administration department working with the group of people that became my business partners in 1997. My responsibilities were user training and special projects relating to Pro/ENGINEER, ANSYS and CFD. Later, I went to work for the Performance Craft division of Mercury Marine - my second favorite job to this day. This was an extremely creative, fun-loving, and hard-working group of people. Essentially an entrepreneurial startup within a large corporation. I was responsible for mechanical design, FEA and CFD of the propulsion system, hull and other components of personal water craft.

I owe a lot to Parametric Technology Corporation... My first day in Waltham I realized that the skills I would gain there would help me start a business one day. As a support engineer, I was on the phones helping Pro/ENGINEER users with their challenges... before internet knowledge bases and even email. People actually talked to each other to solve problems... and it worked!
