Worked at Woodside's Pluto LNG project for 18 months as a survey technician/assistant on a 4/1 FIFO roster. Also did a month's stint at BHP Billiton's Macedon Project in Jan/Feb 2011.

Crew member/leader for land survey team providing boundary and topographic surveys, construction staking for estate homes, schools, residential/resort subdivision projects, roadwork and utilities.

Small business owner/manager on the wharf in Fremantle, WA. Primary duties involved financial oversight, relationships with the Port Authority, logistics and event planning.

Worked as Research Fellow in the Department of Geology Fission Track Research Group with/for Dr. Andrew Gleadow. Moved to LaTrobe University with research group when Dr. Gleadow was named Professor of the Department of Geology. Stayed with the group until late 1989. During this time I was involved in the shift in focus from the Cooper/Eromanga to the Surat and Clarence-Moreton basins.

Responsible for shut down operations Shift IV at the Engineering Test Reactor, Idaho National Engineering Laboratory, Idaho Falls, Idaho. Major research was in plutonium fuel element failure criteria in conjunction with Argon National Laboratory and performance of the Sodium Loop Safety Facility. Also qualified as Reactor and Experiment operator. Trained in radiation safety and emergency response.
