Credit Officer responsible for credit rating and underwriting, surveillance, risk assessment, review and approval for unsecured credit risk exposure.

I was the Credit Officer responsible for management, compliance, review and approval of unsecured credit risk, collateral, documentation and financial evaluation related to our insurance programs. These responsibilities included approval of unsecured credit limits, credit terms as well as the review and preparation of our financial credit review write-ups/executive summaries for our commercial counterparties. I also monitored credit exposure and evaluated collateral terms including letters of credit, securities trust and cash collateral. In addition, I was Director of Captives in which I managed the captive insurance structured account base and other alternative risk collateral options. I was heavily involved in drafting, reviewing and approving legal documentation including Reinsurance Agreements, Payment Agreements, Memorandums of Understanding and Commutation Agreements. I also monitored and determined the interest rate terms for our cash collateral counterparties.

I created and formed the Credit Department for the firm, as prior to joining the company, there had been no formal credit department in place. As Head of Credit, I developed and implemented the credit policy for the company. I approved the credit review write-ups performed by our team of credit analysts (which I had hired in conjunction with creating the department) and determined the trading credit limits for our business areas. This included our stock-loan, repo, foreign exchange, and fixed income related product areas. I also managed our monitoring of daily trading activity and risk exposure processes. I was also heavily involved in legal documentation review and approval including PSA, ISDA, as well as other legal documents.

As Senior Associate, I assisted our Credit Director by reviewing, recommending and analyzing our bank, hedge fund, broker/dealer and investment advisor portfolio. This included our product base of commercial lending, (including revolvers, unsecured lines of credit and term loans, etc.), trading (including foreign exchange and derivatives) and settlement credit limits. I worked directly with our relationship and trading desk areas to ensure proper client and credit administration. I also performed industry analysis and research for banking, broker/dealer, finance, corporate and fund industries well as other related industries.
