- Enhanced the scalability of the AI-service by replacing redis cache with RabbitMQ for the async communication between the API and the AI-service to avoid handling the same image multiple times by different instances of the AI-service and allow for multi-instance scalability of the AI-service and achieving competing consumers effect using python.- Extended the API by applying clustering and user filtering functionalities on the objects detected by the AI-service using python FLASK framework.- Developed the UI that displays the detected objects as points on the image taken by the user and bounding boxes around the objects in the web application using React.- Applied distance-based clustering and zooming functionality on the image with detected points on it to avoid screen cluttering. The points are dynamically re-clustered and transformed the points as the zoom level/viewport changes using React.

- Detected performance bottlenecks in two API endpoints using NewRelic monitoring. Addressed these issues by optimizing data structures (utilizing sets instead of arrays for search) and strategically incorporating data duplication to enhance data locality, thus eliminating expensive joins in our NoSQL MongoDB. Additionally, implemented transactions in writes to maintain data consistency. These efforts achieved 80\% (from 8 seconds to 700ms) and 20\% reduction in response time for the two endpoints.- Managed the development of an archiving service to track changes in data, including menus and prices. This involved integrating a Postgres database and creating a dedicated API for efficient filtering of archived data for future data analysis.- Worked on API documentation for all endpoints using Postman.
