George is a Software Innovation Architect with a strong focus on accelerating cloud's successful adoption. He has been working in the IT industry for over 25 years and he is passionate about sharing his knowledge and experience with others.George Malekkos is a serial entrepreneur and he is the CEO & Founder of Powersoft, a company that he established in 1993 and which has become one of the leading providers of business software solutions in Cyprus and the indisputable leader in the software retail market. Since 2011, George has been a member of CSCC (Cloud Standards Customer Council), where he works on cloud standards with some of the world's largest companies, such as Microsoft, IBM and Oracle. In addition, he is also a member of the Cyprus National Platform for e-invoicing and an advisor for grants of Structural Funds of the European Union.In 2001 he joined forces with two other companies from France and Ireland to form a European consortium that created one of the first web portals in Europe to prevent children obesity.Since then George has continued to work with corporations and organizations in Cyprus, helping them to use information technology to empower their business strategies and goals. He is currently a Guest Instructor and Train the Trainer in all major Colleges and Universities of Cyprus for Computerized Accounting, as well as a Member of the Advisory Council & MBA Mentor at University of Nicosia . He was also Vice-president of CITEA for several years . Today is CITEA'S general secretary.(CITEA is the Cyprus information technology enterprise association) He is a professional motivational speaker for start ups and cloud computing , SAAS, Retail Apparel industry. George mentors and judges young people, entrepreneurs & start-ups in creativity & innovation through The European Youth Award (EYA) contest, being member of the Jury since 2015. He is also member of DIGITAL EUPOPE’s Digital Advisory Council (2015-today) and Board of directors of OEB (Cyprus Employers & Industrialists Federation) -2016.Since 2020 he is also a National Expert for WSA (World Summit Awards) . National experts is one of the major pillars of the WSA network offering their vast experience in the ICT in a network of over 180 UN member countries.<>
