I try complex cases, usually to juries. I have been the first chair jury trial lawyer in over 100 cases in my career. My focus now is on drug and medical device litigation, but I have always handled--and tried-- many other types of cases including business disputes, toxic tort and mechanical device litigation. I have a lot of experience leading aggregate litigation--consolidated proceedings, mass torts, MDLs and class actions-- in state and federal courts across the country. In addition to trying the cases, I often lead the team developing the company story and working with the executives, engineers and scientist who will relate that story to the jury. Frequently I work with expert witnesses to develop the scientific, regulatory, engineering or medical story and present it to the judge in a Daubert or Frye hearing or to the jury at trial.
