I'm an ambitious and driven entrepreneur, programmer, finance and plane geek. I love using technology to build eloquent solutions to business problems by challenging the status quo and to that end started IAMP Media Ltd, a software development agency that I continue to run. Alongside a team of talented programmers and problem solvers, we help commerce businesses around the world maximise impact, streamline processes and understand KPIs.To learn more about online commerce businesses, and to pre-empt the challenges our customers face, I started Storm & Lighthouse Ltd - originally a fixed-term experiment, now a success in its own right. Profitable from year one, and achieving greater than £1m turnover in year three with no external investment, the business operates entirely on an internal software system I developed. This platform makes shipping up to 5 tonnes of stock a week and all related support activities (buying, finance, support) possible with only two full-time administrative staff members and a warehouse team. By eliminating "the way we've always done it" and embracing rapid iterative change, the business has fully automated processes that require dedicated staff members (or departments) in other similarly sized businesses. These processes are then delivered to our business customers worldwide to help them develop lean, efficient organisations. In my spare time, I act as an honorary lecturer to Cardiff University Physics department, and travel - with the long term goal of sampling the world's cuisine.
