Duke is a Division I Football Bowl Series which competes in the Atlantic Coast Conference, one of the most competitive conferences in America. From August 2008 to December 2011, I participated on the team as a walk-on, or non-scholarship player. Football was the largest single time commitment I had during my time at Duke. Every morning and much of my weekends, as well as various other time slots during the week, was devoted to the sport. Football was both enormously rewarding and challenging for its physical and psychological difficulty.
