My role at Redfin recently expanded to 3 areas:- Digital revenue: our rentals marketplace on Redfin plus partnerships with 3rd parties that drive additional customer value and high-margin dollars for the business.- AI: AI efforts that benefit users and agents, like Redfin Redesign which lets you customize floors, walls, and countertops on listing photos.- Mobile apps: great experiences on iOS and Android including push notifications and the real estate feed.

I'm leading the product team responsible for bringing rentals to Redfin. We shipped rentals on Redfin's website and apps on-time on March 23, 2022! Since launching, we've been adding features at a rapid clip, driving millions of new sessions to Redfin and millions of rental leads to the Rent business.

Product director for sell-side and self-service products at Redfin. Owned Redfin Direct Offers, Direct Access, RedfinNow, and listings product management teams.Expanded Direct Access which lets buyers tour homes without an agent. We were the first national brokerage to get self-guided tours on private sellers' homes, not just homes owned by Redfin. Direct Access doubled the number of tours a seller could get on their home all while helping the seller and agent keep the property safe and minimize any issues.

Launched Redfin Direct, a way for buyers to write thousands of offers on our Redfin listings without being represented by an agent. This won the Inman Innovator's Award for best real estate technology of 2019.

Launched features that help sellers make their homes stand out on Redfin: Coming Soon, which promotes homes before they're live to build buzz, and Offer Deadlines, which lets buyers (not just agents) know when they need to get an offer in to remain competitive and have a shot at winning the home.Started Redfin’s Open Platform initiative where we made offer deadlines and coming soon listings available to tens of thousands of non-Redfin agents.Worked on the early product work for RedfinNow, which buys your home for cash, and grew the team to build out software for the business.

Joined Redfin to lead the product team responsible for our Listings business.Launched Redfin’s Comparative Market Analysis tool, used by Redfin's hundreds of listing agents to price sellers homes, sell our marketing advantage, and convince them to list with Redfin.

I've been a panelist/speaker in a couple of discussions relating to tech and real estate:1. Made in Seattle Week: Trending in Tech (June 2016) - I represented Redfin on a panel relating to innovation in Seattle.2. Disrupting Real Estate (November 2016) - I represented Redfin on a panel about how different companies and agents are changing the real estate industry.

I transitioned to a product management role and worked on a team that built an unreleased service for businesses.I also was a finalist in Amazon's first Think Big competition, which involved writing a document describing a new product or service. My document was one of the 6 finalists among 1300 submissions, and was reviewed by the senior leadership team at Amazon, including Jeff Bezos.

I worked on a team that is delivering new apps and services for both Amazon and non-Amazon devices. I focused on the contextual right panel of the Fire Phone. We built a platform to allow teams to build and serve contextual cards from on-device or in the cloud. These cards gave customers in-context, in-the-moment information based on where they were or what they were doing. Examples included weather, travel times from home and work, video watching suggestions, VIP emails, upcoming appointments, and shopping notifications.

I was on the Launch team for Fire Phone. I drove and managed the following programs and apps for Fire Phone 1.0:- The Trials/Beta program, designed to collect as much real-world feedback as possible on a confidential v1 device. The program scaled to 400+ participants across Amazon, including executives and the SLT.- The Quick Start app, designed to introduce the phone and its novel features to customers right after they set it up for the first time. The app uses a combination of videos and interactive tutorials.- The Announce event, and all the software demos required for it. Built the Xbox Games app on Windows 8. The app is pre-installed with Windows and helps gamers discover great new games and extras, track their progress and how they compare with others, and communicate with and challenge their friends. We shipped the app 4 times in 2012, from Win 8 release previews to general availability.After launch, I developed a roadmap for the app to improve user engagement and attachment for the application, based on metrics. We shipped two updates in 2013 that improved authenticated unique users by 30%, user sessions by 25%, and minutes spent in the app by 66%.

I worked on several projects during my time at Office Labs.- I Led a NUI project to figure out how best to use Kinect technology in productivity scenarios, including PowerPoint presentations and remote collaboration. Presented findings to VP-level executives and PowerPoint team.- I developed a vision for how to visualize customer usage within the Office applications, and convinced my leadership team to fund an exploration within it.- I drove an intranet social search project that explored what aspects of peer activity boosted search relevance and improved the UI. Landed several of the positive outcomes and learnings in the upcoming version of SharePoint Search. My team also built out and mined a 1.5 billion+ row ActivityDB of Microsoft intranet data that continued to be used for new projects and experiments within Office Labs.- I drove a personal productivity incubation that figured out what components of personal activity data can be used to automatically re-create a work context on your PC. I also started Videopalooza, a monthly team-wide event where we air 3-minute videos that describe the status of active projects in Office Labs. This event helped a multi-pronged team like Office Labs improve cross-team awareness and collaboration.I personally wrote code for several side projects during Garage (hack) weeks, including: Kinect as a musical instrument [Human Beatbox], Kinect as a MIDI controller for DJ software [DJ Kinect], ambient displays [CafeTV], collaborative music-making on a Surface [Terpsichore], mobile social tasks [Surfboard], and mobile location-based messages [Graffiti].

I focused on web content management within the team.- I drove a redesign of the authoring experience for SharePoint web pages, including adapting the Office Ribbon for SharePoint page authoring. - I drove the design of a browser-based rich-text editor redesign across SharePoint, which led to a modern, cross-browser, standards-based, clean-markup rich text editor for SharePoint 2010 that took advantage of Ribbon experiences like live preview.- I developed the first end-to-end video management and presentation story for SharePoint via a Silverlight-based media player.- I created a framework for designers to revamp our out-of-box master pages into more visually compelling offerings. - I increased our team’s blog presence online, including writing, editing, and reviewing posts.- I submitted two patent applications for my feature work.

I helped transition Content Management Server to SharePoint. I drove experiences of making web page authoring as easy as document authoring.- I designed and shipped features for creating and aggregating content across SharePoint web sites, including Content Query, Summary Links, and Table of Contents web parts. These features were used by many Office SharePoint Server deployments on their most visible landing pages including Microsoft's intranet (MSWeb).- I designed and shipped a document conversion feature for web authors to automatically create web pages using Word or InfoPath. This feature was one of the first converters of the Word OpenXML file format.- I guided several internal portal customers (MSWeb, ITWeb, HRWeb) during their portal redesigns, ensuring they took the best advantage of SharePoint web content management features along the way.- I gave conference talks to hundreds of external customers, outlining the new web content management features of SharePoint 2007.- I served as the accessibility rep for my team, ensuring our product was compliant with published guidelines in order to avoid sales blockers.- I helped integrate the Content Management Server program management team into the Office organization. I led by example when it came to following SharePoint UI patterns, design practices, and Office team processes. - I submitted four patent applications for my feature work.

- I designed and shipped a news publishing app, which was the first to use a template-based page model in SharePoint Portal Server.- I designed and shipped a site directory app that helped portal owners organize, track, and present the sites across the enterprise.- I builtthe first public demo of SharePoint Portal Server for Jeff Raikes for a Microsoft CEO Summit conference.- I was in charge of product lock-down and release mechanics, including efforts like UI visual freeze and release management of beta versions.- I developed a streamlined UI text review process for the team to ensure high-quality UI strings in the final product.
