George Pyne is an accomplished businessman, entrepreneur, philanthropist, athlete, and family man. His career represents a series of business transformations in many industries, during which he turned potential into value. He founded Bruin Capital in 2015, which today has $1B+ in capital commitments from the world’s largest private equity firms and family investment funds. Bruin’s holdings include best-in-class global technology, gambling, data, training and performance, and brand strategy companies. Collectively, they have over 2500 employees operating out of 50 offices in 15 countries. Billions of consumers rely on them for sports and entertainment experiences on every screen, platform, and event. Bruin follows Pyne's stewardship of IMG Sports and Entertainment, where, as President and Board Member, the company achieved a $2.4b sale price that was more than three times the initial acquisition value ($750M). Before that, as COO and Board Member for NASCAR, he designed the commercialization plan that helped transform the regional, niche sport into an elite U.S. sports league that produced billions in revenue and earnings. His career began with his family's real estate business in Milford, Mass, before moving to Atlanta, GA, to work for the City’s Chamber of Commerce, where his study of the city's school budget and operations led to unprecedented and sweeping reforms. He then joined Portman Companies, the eponymous commercial real estate and architectural firm founded by the iconic architect John Portman. It was with Portman that he launched his first sports marketing business and also organized a $2B debt restructuring. NASCAR was a Portman client of his and eventually recruited Pyne to join the company where he became only the second non-family member to join its Board. From there he joined IMG. Pyne is a Board Member of the National Football Foundation and the National Catholic Charities for the Archdiocese of New York. He also served on the Board of 24-Hour Fitness. A graduate of Brown University, Pyne was Captain, All-Ivy League, and All-New England honoree as an offensive lineman for the then-Bruins. George’s family represents three generations of NFL athletes, and his father-in-law is in the LPGA Hall of Fame.
