I led a team of data scientists that acquired new hosts through growth marketing, optimized the onboarding experience of new hosts, provided hosts with powerful tools and insights to maximize their income from hosting, and incentivized hosts to make their listings available during high occupancy periods.

I led a team of machine learning engineers and data scientists that created the product catalog for Walmart.com, integrating Walmart's product catalog with thousands of third-party product catalogs. The system applied deep learning on images and text to enable attribute extraction, classification, and matching over millions of products.

I led a team of data scientists, software engineers, and product managers that developed innovative applications of Intuit's unique data assets. The team secured dozens of foundational patents and created new sources of revenue. Successes included creating the Intuit Commerce Graph that integrated diverse financial data from across Intuit's products to create a database that captured 20% of all financial transactions in the US economy. The team also conceived and prototyped powerful applications of the Intuit Commerce Graph, including a new financial product that streamlined loans to small businesses. Other successes included applying novel data sources and innovative predictive modeling techniques to deliver highly relevant cross-sell and 3rd party offers within Intuit's products, and to dramatically increasing the accuracy of transaction classification in Intuit's consumer finance products.

As one of Intuit's first data scientists, I led digital transformation projects across Intuit's business units that produced millions of dollars in additional revenue and cost savings. The initiatives included increasing the yield from multi-channel online advertising through attribution modeling, reducing the abandonment of SaaS products through behavioral analysis, and improving SaaS products through automated detection of new topics in customer support queries.

I led a team of data scientists and software engineers who were responsible for optimizing the revenue from millions of parked web sites with more than 60 million unique visitors per month. Accomplishments included developing an adaptive web site optimization system that runs 24/7 background experiments with different combinations of content and layout on each web site, and adjusts each web site in real-time based on the results of those background experiments, resulting in dramatically increased revenue compared with the previous manual system of A/B testing and adjustment.

I was responsible for optimizing revenue from Traffic Marketplace, a leading independent advertising network, with more than 100 million unique visitors and 30 billion impressions per month. I led a team of data scientists and software engineers whose accomplishments included developing a real-time decision engine that significantly increased the yield of the advertising network through improved matching between site visitors and advertisements.

As the technical co-founder, I was responsible for recruiting and leading the software engineering, data science, and product management teams. I played a key role in raising venture capital from USVP and Bay Partners, and worked side-by-side with the enterprise sales team to close numerous deals such as General Mills to Sees Candy. Accomplishments included disrupting the manufacturing planning and operations performance management sector by delivering the first enterprise-class SaaS solution, and leveraging Machine Learning for demand prediction and scheduling optimization. After the company was acquired, I managed the successful integration of JRG's solutions into Aptean's enterprise software suite.

As the technical co-founder, I was responsible for recruiting and leading the software engineering and data science teams. I was instrumental in raising venture capital from Goldman Sachs Partners and Panasonic Ventures, and partnered with the enterprise sales team to close deals such as Cisco Systems and Microsoft. Accomplishments included disrupting the online marketing sector by delivering the first SaaS solution, developing one of the first enterprise-class solutions to be built on a LAMP stack, and pioneering the use of machine learning in online marketing through prediction and optimization of consumer responses from real-time streaming data.

I conducted research into theoretical and computational astrophysics sponsored by NASA and the US Air Force. Accomplishments included developing a breakthrough algorithm and software package for mapping the twisted magnetic fields that cause solar flares, a major step towards understanding and predicting space weather.
