• Presented with The 2007 Outstanding Faculty Member Award• Prepared, organized, and implemented 20 undergraduate curriculum in Art History, Art Appreciation, Drawing, Color Theory, Design, Digital Media, Graphic Design and Photography.• Experience with creating content for online curriculum using programs such as Blackboard, Moodle, and Google Classrooms.• As the Art Gallery Coordinator, supervised the curatorial process of the artworks submitted to the Quarterly Gallery Exhibition to successfully hang an exhibition with professional gallery standards.• Member of the Faculty Retention Committee, a standing committee comprised of seasoned faculty charged with addressing how faculty may be retained, ranked, and effectively evaluated.

Prepared, organized and implemented an undergraduate curriculum in:• Drawing and Perspective: A fundamental drawing course in which the students explore various art and media, learn to use a variety of drawing tools, draw three-dimensional objects in one-, two-, and three-point perspective, and generate drawings that demonstrate correct proportions of models.• Painting: Color Theory: students explore color theory, including additive and subtractive color. Emphasis is placed on color and its relationship to composition through harmony and contrast in a variety of formats and media.

Prepared and implemented an undergraduate curriculum in:• Elements of Design: Students gained knowledge on the theory and the application of fundamental design principles.• Art Appreciation: Students effectively reflected on multiple artistic styles, media, themes and art history.

Prepared, and executed an undergraduate curriculum in:• Art Appreciation (at the Franklin Satellite Campus and at the Medium Security Federal Prison in Butner): The curriculum resulted in a productive dialogue about the analysis and interpretation of multiple art forms and media.

Organized, and put into practice an undergraduate curriculum in:• Art Education: Methods in the Elementary School: Successfully trained prospective elementary school art teachers with an innovative bilingual syllabus, instructional approaches, evaluative procedures, teaching techniques and materials.

• Conducted gallery exhibition tours in Spanish and English • Developed and executed an art curriculum effectively relating the art produced with the gallery exhibition and interrelated ideas. Some of the themes explained in the art classes were design foundations, traditional and contemporary painting styles, and life drawing techniques. • Designed, curated, and installed the Lehman College Art Gallery Annual Children’s Art Exhibition.

• Led exhibition tours and group discussions in both Spanish and English at El Museo del Barrio, a museum dedicated to preserving the artistic heritage of Latin Americans in the United States. • Planned bilingual hands-on studio art workshops. Instructed in a variety of media, including drawing, painting, found materials, and ceramics. • Attended financial resource meetings with supervisors and other artist educators, resulting in successfully meeting budget quotas. • Met with various school district representatives to work out an art curriculum relating the art created with important topics in the Latino Community. Traveled to several public schools throughout New York City to implement the approved art curriculum to Spanish speaking students, for whom English was a second language.

• Assembled with various community representatives to discuss how to combine the subject matter of the murals produced with specific neighborhood issues. As a result of such meetings, designs were finalized to create site-specific inner-city murals painted with the assistance of 8th through 12th grades art students. • Trained students in all facets of mural painting production, art history, and design elements. • Counseled high-risk youth about pre-employment job skills, and the challenges they face in everyday inner-city life aiding them to make better choices about their future.
