Georges Dubé has a corporate commercial practice with extensive experience in corporate securities, mergers and acquisitions, capital markets and corporate governance. His practise involves public and private offerings, take-over bids as well as mergers and acquisitions, both in the Canadian and cross-border context.With transactional experience in industries including real estate, mining, oil & gas and finance, Georges assists clients in achieving their goals while safeguarding their interests in the complex public transactional landscape. Clients include public issuers (large, mid-cap as well as emerging), bank-owned and independent investment banks, activist shareholders, and domestic and foreign acquirers of Canadian public entities. He also acts for special committees, or their financial advisors, of public issuer boards in the context of change of control or related-party transactions.In 2010, Georges was appointed by the Ontario Securities Commission to the Securities Advisory Committee for a two-year term. The committee provides advice to the OSC on legislative and policy initiatives and capital markets trends. Members are chosen for their excellent knowledge of Ontario securities law, significant practice experience, and a strong interest in the development of securities regulatory policy.Georges has presented seminars on capital markets and published articles in the Securities and Mergers & Acquisition Bulletin. Since 2010, he has been a Board Member of Shaw Festival's annual fundraising event.
