I currently serve as the assistant director for Nevada Humanities, an independent non-profit organization that serves as Nevada's affiliate to the National Endowment for the Humanities.I am an experienced educator and non-profit administrator focusing on public humanities. I am also a composer who works with placemaking, theater, and community-based projects. I draw from my experience as an assistant/associate professor and my experience as a co-founder, co-artistic director, and non-profit administrator to: ✓ Create interactive experiences for students and audiences that inspire. ✓ Communicate effectively to students, faculty, audiences, donors, and grantmakers. ✓ Collaborate seamlessly with diverse stakeholders and navigate complex workflows. ✓ Lead assessment projects by analyzing evidence and guiding change. ✓ Mentor colleagues and co-create solutions. ✓ Apply research-based learner-centered pedagogy in teaching and training.I have secured grants at local, state, and national levels, including a US$61k grant for an oral history project from the Research Grants Council of Hong Kong, where I will lead a team to create new app-based resources and immersive experiences that highlight stories from Hong Kong's ethnic minority communities.As an active composer, I create community-centered works that highlight the voices of minoritized communities.
