As Director General, Georgette provides leadership to the research and measurement services within the NRC Metrology Research Centre in support of NRC’s strategic goals to promote the advancement of knowledge and serve as Canada’s national metrology institute, linking ideas to implementation through collaborative innovation with stakeholders across the innovation landscape. She is committed to fostering innovation through high-precision measurement science and advancements in metrology. Georgette ensures that stakeholders and their needs are effectively engaged and understood by maintaining and enhancing relationships with senior officials of industry, government, universities and foreign organizations.En tant que directrice générale, Georgette assure le leadership des services de recherche et de mesure au sein du Centre de recherche en métrologie du CNRC, à l'appui des objectifs stratégiques du CNRC, qui consistent à promouvoir l'avancement des connaissances et à servir d'institut national de métrologie du Canada, en faisant le lien entre les idées et leur mise en œuvre par le biais d'une innovation collaborative avec les intervenants de tout le paysage de l'innovation. Her program activities ensure the Canadian market has access to and confidence in competent measurement solutions and while supporting the international recognition of both Canada's National Accreditation Body and National Metrology Institute.NRC undertook an executive project to enhance service excellence within the organization. The core project team applied Lean and Six Sigma approaches to “simplify doing business within the NRC” and to “reduce the workload for all”. The initiative addresses corporate processes and strive to establish a lasting culture of continuous process improvement.Her technical background is in mass and related quantities. She started her career in metrology with GJS Mass Measurement and Fisher Scientific Canada; as a Laboratory Technologist, and then as the Laboratory Supervisor and Quality Manager.
