A quality management systems auditor with an engineering background, operating within a small team of quality assurance (QA) professionals. Providing QA to all British Army engineering organisations located in south west England. We concurrently provide assurance to UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) engineering establishments located within North America, Central America the Middle East and Far East. Assessing to ISO 9001:2015 standards, evaluating organisational management processes, policies and procedures to confirm regulatory conformance and compliance. Ascertaining areas of potential risk and providing mitigation action plans. Furthermore, we provide tailored technical advice to assist the progression of continuous improvement objectives and efficiency development. This is a fulfilling role and is conducted meticulously to the high standards required by the MOD. During this assignment i have provided guidance to the senior management team ensuring the department operates in a professional manner compliant with legislation.

Employed as an engineering line manager within a large engineering maintenance organisation (REME Workshop). Effectively communicating and implementing organisational strategy, ensuring efficient maintenance forecasting, inspection program implementation and preventative maintenance of all vehicle and plant systems. Additional to operations management, coordinating the fulfilment of external Equipment Support (ES) demands from satellite organisations. Furthermore, ensuring excellent subordinate technical proficiency and advancement. This was achieved by combining specialist course opportunities with relevant in house training. I have also heavily championed CPD and employee development within this period. Within my department I have aimed to provide the opportunity and direction to all staff for professional development. Identifying areas of potential advancement, providing individual action plans whilst concurrently ensuring my organisation's competency requirements are fulfilled. During this period I completed a successful Nine month deployment to Afghanistan, responsible for all production of a composite Workshop of technical specialists providing intimate Equipment Support (ES) to British military organisations. I was professionally recognised during this period for Engineering and awarded Enginering Technition (Eng Tech) from the Society of Operations Engineers (SOE). I studied further management theory as part of continuing professional development and was awarded the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) - Level 5 Certificate in Management and Leadership.

As a senior mechanical tradesman I led a small technical team consisting of electronic, weapon and automotive technicians. Ensuring routine organisational objectives were fulfilled and effectively communicating progress to senior management and team members. During this stage of my career I was predominantly employed within heavy engineering organisations and gained an. extremely high proficiency Armoured tracked vehicles amongst other heavy equipment's.During this period I commanded a team of technical specialists within a highly dynamic conflict area for a six month period. I successfully ensured the continuous operational availability of a combined Afghani and British vehicles within an austere forward location creating from scratch an ES workshop. Concurrently, managing my team and ensuring the serviceability and availability of varied electronic communication equipment, armoured vehicles and Plant equipment.

Temporary assignment to Mount Pleasant Airfield, Falkland Islands working for the British Forces South Atlantic Islands (BFSAI). An extremely high tempo organisation which delivers continuous large training programs with a heavy reliance on serviceable equipment and vehicle availability. Supervising a technical team of locally employed civilians (LEC) mechanical technicians. Managing a culturally diverse team was a positive highlight and involved adjustment of managerial technique to complement the established local working culture. During this period I implemented an extensive preventative maintenance programme. In addition, providing technical guidance for the integrated logistics department regarding forecasting future maintenance requirements. This process was vital and mitigated the lengthy transit time of maritime delivered freight. Working with limited infrastructure, difficult local telecommunications and between three (Falklands Ascension and the UK) locations spread over Thousands of km, my team continually satisfied customer requirements over the full period. A fulfilling temporary assignment within a testing environment which confirmed and improved my adaptability.After this deployment I went back to my primary role as a mechanical technician (Automotive systems engineer) tasked primarily with engineering maintenance of multiple military vehicle and Plant systems. Tasks included; periodic inspection, preventative mechanical maintenance, mechanical repair and commissioning of new equipment.

A comprehensive two stage mechanical engineering apprenticeship. Initially completing a year of academic and hands on tuition. Comprising of bench fitting, Manual Metal Arc (MMA) and Oxy Acetylene, hydraulics fundamentals, theoretical study of Engineering materials and mathematics. In addition to the core mechanical instruction, an extensive instruction on military Armoured vehicle systems and their mechanical operation including mechanical maintenance.Followed by five years gaining hands on experience within a military engineering organisation. Finally, returning to the Technical School for a further year of full time mechanical engineering tuition to complete the time served apprenticeship. Earning; City and Guilds NVQ 3 Certificate in Engineering Maintenance and a City and Guilds NVQ 3 Certificate in Engineering-Installation, Commissioning and Maintenance.
