Motivated by use of CAD to design items that offer mechanical advantages to a set problem;Use of RFID technology;Involved concept sketches, production of a prototype model to aid with the design of a partially vital aspect of final product and the use of 3D design software to display the final design.Using CAD for both design and analysis of material and structure has always interested me and in my education I had the opportunity to use all kinds of software to do this, such as Creo, SolidWorks, AutoCAD and Ansys. A large part of what I enjoy about engineering is solving problems in new and innovative ways, especially when the environment and sustainability issues come into effect. I’ve always enjoyed working hands on in a workshop capacity and have built many items during my education, such as a desk, screwdriver, lamp and bedside cabinet, which has allowed me to become comfortable using many kinds of workshop machinery.
