About George Holmes

Every aspect of my life centers around creative problem solving, I am always seeking to understand, whether that’s in a chemistry or toxicology domain, in my reserve armed forces career or even within my hobbies. I am learning continuously because I want to expand my knowledge and make myself better. I’m passionate about delivering, and I have learnt over the years that problems are more readily solved when you communicate effectively and collaborate with the right people at the right time, this has been especially prevalent in my product safety career but now is becoming more relevant in my current role. My professional goals are to currently to build upon my leadership skills and for me the priority within that means supporting and developing those in my direct team and collaborating with those who I work with closely. I have recently achieved foundation Chartered Manager (fCMgr) status, having successfully completed my CMI level 5 Diploma in leadership and Management and I am looking to be fully chartered in the near future and hopefully achieve a higher-level qualification(s) along the way from the Chartered Managers' Institute.Alongside my leadership skills, I am looking to further my chemistry and toxicology expertise by achieving both Chartered Chemist and European Register toxicologist and supplementing both of these appointments with a high level of quality continued personal development. My professional interests lie in product development, product managing and product safety across a mix of industries (FMCG and Cosmetics for example) where minimising the impact to the environment and human health, as part of a high performing team, are my biggest focus. In my spare time, I enjoy fitness, nature, and helping others in need. I am involved in raising awareness and supporting a variety of causes related to mental health, as I have previous experience working as a recovery worker for people with complex mental health needs. If you would like to discuss any potential opportunities, please do hesitate to get in touch with me.G
