I am a conscientious, hard-working, and well-adapted university student, currently studying in my second year of philosophy at the Royal Holloway University of London. To a business, I bring with great skills in organisation, planning of busy schedule, and achieving deadlines. Acting as a key figure in the shops business periods (Halloween and Christmas), I had the responsibility of keeping an awareness of the levels of fresh produce in the shop from the farm, as well as keeping the shop floor stocked with enough produce. Experience in answering the phone and aiding customers n their enquiry allowed me to explore and refine my problem-solving additives, to find the best solution for each customer and increasing ticket sales to events by 30%. Not only this but as the establishment hosted many events, I was able to be involved in the creative process in planning and executing these events, from arranging a pumpkin patch and selling pumpkins, and minding children as they carved their pumpkins under my supervision.

St. Ives, Cornwall

Spending the summer working in St.Ives business designer ice cream parlour taught me how to serve a multitude of customers and to engage each of them individually. As a key holder, I was entrusted with opening/closing the shop most days, which was not only a huge amount of trust but also allowed me to move through the hierarchy of the business in my time there. With over 40 flavours and even more flavour combinations, I was exceedingly capable in regurgitating information and keeping customers informed and to promote any changes. Not only this but retaining an awareness of sales and stock levels was integral to my time with Jus'Desserts as the deliveries only came once a day and so it was my responsibility to relay information to the delivery men for the next morning.

Working for a small self-owned business allowed me to see how a business works from the inside and on a very small level, aiding men my ability to understand each level of a successful business and experience self-management. Having exceptional customer service skills was an integral part of this work as I was intrigued with the client's house and the owner's business. As an assistant, I helped in any way asked of me, from fixing toilets to changing light bulbs to renovating bathrooms to sanding door frames. I especially enjoyed the creative aspect of this job, as it allowed me some freedom to express myself while achieving the best results for the customer.
