Caring for emergency and surgical patients as well as assisting the vets and nurses with their treatments such as checking vital signs and restraining animals for specialist procedures

On site 'live in" student whose roles include medicating and providing afterhour and hospitalised intensive care patients every 2-4hrs depending on the treatments necessary.The only veterinary nurse at the practice on the weekends, often without a vet onsite as the vet travels between two practices. Roles included reception work, kennel hand duties, assisting the vet with consultations and running the practice unattended.

Casual Veterinary Nurse. Roles include kennel hand duties, medicating patients, medical imaging, assisting in surgery with anaesthesia, talking to clients and general reception duties.
