As a Partner at KPMG, I help clients understand and access government funding to help their business innovate and grow. This ranges from tax incentives (state and federal) through to grants and other discretionary sources of funding. Whilst my focus is ICT, I work with companies in almost every industry and sector; including health, cleantech, defence and manufacturing. I lead KPMG’s Melbourne Accelerating Business Growth (ABG) team and lead the national innovation tax technical team which engages with regulators on issues of interpretation and administration of innovation related tax incentives (e.g. R&D Tax, ESVCLPs, ESIC, Patent Box, etc.). My focus on policy and implementation has afforded me the opportunity to work internationally (e.g. Singapore, New Zealand, China, etc.) and coordinate global engagements (e.g. US, UK, Ireland, Canada, Germany, Sweden, Singapore, Japan, New Zealand, etc.). As Counsel, I advise in all areas of commercial law, but tend to focus on technology law, especially privacy and security matters. In addition, I've been briefed by various state and federal government agencies (such as AGS, ACCC, VGSO, VDPC, etc). In addition, I've consulted to government and private industry on policy, information privacy law, information management and IT security. I've also been involved in Liberty Victoria (a peak non-profit civil liberties organisation), AUSTRAC's Privacy Consultative Committee, Cure Brain Cancer Foundation, Stone & Chalk (not-for-profit), EnergyLab (not-for-profit) and the Victorian Bar Animal Welfare Committee.In my spare time, I love travelling (well I did until COVID) and catching up with family and friends.
