Parker Hannifin is the largest hose manufacturer in the world; the McCook facility is the largest non-tire rubber mixing facility. McCook mixes NBR, EPDM, SBR, PVC, CSM, CPE, and Neoprene compounds, which are used to produce low, medium, and high pressure pneumatic and hydraulic hoses. Our hoses are used in the agriculture, construction, mining, oil & gas, OEM, refuse, and transportation markets. The mixing supports not only the McCook facility but five additional Parker facilities across the United States. • Reduced complexity of inventory items by utilizing current materials used in production rather than adding additional materials• Increased throughput of high-volume stocks by over 1,000 lbs/hr while maintaining quality and mixing efficiency• Organized and validated the shift of mix from mixer 1 to mixers 2 & 3 during its replacement which also reduced shifts from 12 to 8 hours• Assisted in the installation and validation of a new K6A intermesh mixer• Managed, coordinated, and validated trials of secondary suppliers throughout the approval process• Collaborated with vendors to improve packaging of materials which reduced waste, improved throughput, and reduced air particulates• Maintain monthly EPA reporting calculations for Emissions reporting• Improved processing and throughput of mixed compounds in the millroom and extrusion• Successfully validated new cure package to increase shelf-life of current compounds saving an estimated 3M lbs. of material from being wasted or purchased externally• Manage Engineering Department Process Technicians• Converted several two-pass mixes to single pass which improved efficiency, reduced mixing time, inventory, and saved warehouse space
