I have worked in the service industry for over 10 years, whilst attending school and college. My time in the industry has given me the opportunity to develop excellent life skills that can be applied to a variety of jobs or careers. For example, I have obtained and expanded upon strong skills, such as: persuasive speaking, general people skills, empathy, adaptability, ability to use positive language, clear communication skills, self-control, taking responsibility, patience, effective listening, attentiveness, time management, reliability, and willingness to improve and learn. These transferable skills give me an advantage in important areas, such as sales, teamwork, customer service, relationship building, attention to detail, and crisis management.
