Commissioner of the Agriculture Produce Commission (APC). The APC legislation provides Western Australian horticultural producers with the ability to self fund and direct their industry to further the growth, prosperity and security of growers, producers and agricultural industries within Western Australia.The Commission provides specialist governance and guidance to all APC Committees, encouraging them to work with their producers to identify initiatives and provide a true value service to growers and their industries.

I provide business management consulting services, specialising in media relations, strategic marketing, digital marketing (social media strategy and execution), content/copywriting and project management. My main areas of focus are agriculture, food, wine and health.

Managing relevant projects and activities for WA Potatoes, delivering corporate support services for the organisation, funding applications and management, developing systems and strategies required for project delivery.

After assisting with the initial digital marketing strategy for Bravo™ apples in the first commercial season, I now manage social media channels including analytics reporting, paid promotions, creative and community monitoring in an ongoing capacity.

I sat on the Board in a voluntary role for Prepare Produce Provide. The organisation's programs are based on an innovative model, bringing together multiple stakeholders - educators, chefs, food producers, businesses and charitable organisations - to inspire WA youth, enable them to explore food and hospitality careers and educate them on community giving, food sustainability and nutritional well-being.

I worked with Farmer Jacks to develop and maintain a digital marketing strategy including website and social media platforms.

I delivered media, marketing and promotional services to raise the profile of the regions food industry, including media support for the Gascoyne Food Festival. The work included social media strategy and execution, media strategy and campaigns, copywriting, developing promotional material and coordinating events.

I provided strategic marketing services in the development of a new project.

I assisted a new consulting company in the mining, oil and gas and infrastructure industry's set up their branding, website and marketing.

In this role I have undertaken research into international markets to a specified brief. Additionally I provide support in maintaining website content and new business leads.

I was responsible for the management of the events program and developing the corresponding marketing program for the API WA Division.

I manage the development, contributions, editing and contractors to produce the Fruit West magazine. I also write and contribute articles on a freelance basis.

In this role I managed 3 people to deliver the marketing and promotional goals of the WA potato industry. This involved developing strategies for increasing the market for potatoes by developing new varieties and coordinating research into their health attributes. Further tasks included writing funding applications and extensive liaison with contractors and stakeholders within industry and government to deliver the multifaceted program. I was responsible for establishing a steering committee and being a member of several other key committees.

In this role I manage a team of 7 to deliver marketing, communications and industry development programs - for the vegetable and potato industries. This involved developing strategies for marketing, communications, variety and quality development and research projects. I was also responsible for managing budgets, funding applications, progress reporting and stakeholder management. Other tasks include contract management for suppliers and service providers, report and article writing (for media and publications).Achievements during this period include successful funding applications securing over AUD 100,000 for vegetablesWA and around AUD 1 million for Western Potatoes during the first 6 months (for the 2009/10 financial year). I was also selected to be a representative on the Horticulture Australia, Industry Advisory Group for Consumer and Markets to assess funding applications on behalf of levy payers.

In this role I was project manager for BioGuide London – an initiative to assist new entrants to, and existing players in, the London life sciences sector. I was responsible for building contacts, partnering opportunities, finding facilities and information members needed to reach their business goals. I developed and implemented the marketing strategy, which included design and production of the London Life Sciences News (monthly newsletter) and managing relationships with contractors and suppliers. I created and maintained the BioGuide London Directory (online database), managed client and stakeholder relationships, and organised networking events. A major achievement in this role was the development of the London life sciences online database called the “BioGuide London Directory” (http://www.londonbiotechnology.co.uk/London-BioGuide.aspx). Additionally, the production of a range of marketing initiatives in a variety of media including designing printed materials (flyers, magazine adverts), exhibition displays, giveaways and web banners.

My main responsibility in this role to manage the trade and investment portfolio for food, beverage (including wine), agriculture and biotechnology in Europe. This included promoting WA and its products and services; development of market entry plans and promotional events. I communicated relevant local information to policy and decision makers in WA. I was also able to build a European network in government and industry. Additionally, I provided support and assistance to travelling delegations to the UK and Europe by arranging meeting programs, site visits and other activities. A major achievement was the coordination of a Western Australian promotion at The Restaurant Show in London (September 2006) to target the food service sector. This promotion included a WA Recipe Competition and WA Exhibition Village where products and services from the State were showcased. Bespoke marketing material was also produced for this event, including brochures, website material and banners;

My role at the Department of Agriculture was to undertake market, economic and social analysis of business opportunities in agri-food in WA for potential investment and exports. I coordinated meetings and programs for international delegations and buyers as well as arranging the events/functions for them to network with relevant business and government contacts. An important aspect of my role was to give presentations to potential investors to promote State agriculture development and the supporting government policies. I also produced reports on Agri-Industry Opportunities into China and Agri-Industry Opportunities into South Korea including market opportunities and access information.Achievements included the following: Coordinated the 2004 Business Mission to South Korea and launch of the WA Trade and Investment Office in Seoul, led by the Deputy Premier of Western Australia;Food retail promotion planning included hosting a high level delegation in WA and showcasing products for an in-store promotion in Seoul in 2005.Production of a Wine Industry Supply Chain study using Porter Analysis.
