I am currently a nurse resident in the Pediatrics department at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center. I graduated with my BSN from the University of North Carolina Wilmington in December 2023. While finishing nursing school, I was a CNA on my same floor, which helped me gain considerable experience with the pediatric population. Before moving to Wilmington in 2018 and beginning nursing school in 2021, I had a career in theatre management and theatre education that makes me a unique and creative nurse. I am proud to be a member of the LGBTQ+ community and prioritize diversity, equity, and inclusion principles in my personal life and clinical practice.In my nursing school cohort at UNCW, I distinguished myself as a leader, mentor, and active and accomplished student. I was one of the four students out of sixty who was chosen to be a Lab Assistant, giving me the chance to provide assessment education to new nursing students. I was the Points Chair of UNCW's Association of Nursing Students and was inducted in the Nu Omega chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.As my nursing career flourishes, I continue to be involved in theatre in Wilmington. I've volunteered and worked with Thalian Association Community Theatre since 2019 as a performer, stage manager, and educator. While nursing and theatre may not seem similar, there is a lot of cross over that has guided me through nursing school. A career in theatre has given me years of teamworking experience, a love of working and thinking quickly on my feet, and a deep passion towards achieving goals.
