I have worked in Clinical Cancer Trials since 2001. I started at Velindre Cancer Centre in Cardiff with the clinical trials team where I supported eleven research nurses and the manager. I had various roles such as PA, Trials Administrator and Data Manager throughout the time that I worked there. To further my career I applied for a position as a data manager with the Wales Cancer Trials Unit at Cardiff University. I was successful and have worked here since 2008, firstly as a Data Manager and then I progressed to become a Trial Manager/Project Manager for solid tumour trials. I have worked on both commercial and non commercial trials, IMP and non-IMP trials. I have experience in setting up trials from inception and to close down. I have worked on various areas such as mesothelioma, colorectal and gynecological. I pride myself of having the experience of working both in the hospital environment and the academic environment. I believe this gives me a better understanding of how clinical trials units work and what research staff are up against when trying to carry out research. I have a very good rapport with all my sites and their departments.
