Key SkillsProgramme Planning & DeliveryIn the last 5 years I have delivered over 250 biodiversity and heritage sessions to communities across England and Wales. Liaising with community representatives to plan and promote. Sourcing and working with specialist tutors, promoting, booking, finding facilities and materials, preparing risk assessments for each activity, and ensuring participants are happy and safe. I have also run larger public events, and outreach activities for families. Working with partner organisations I have delivered sessions for those with additional access needs, BSL interpreted sessions for the Deaf community, people living with dementia and those with visual impairments and those with challenging mental health.CommunicationsI have developed and published resources to support and encourage activities. I have successfully managed social media channels, updated website content, written and distributed newsletters through mass email providers. I am experienced in writing press releases and am comfortable giving radio interviews. I am able to put together presentations and speak to groups with confidence. I am happy to report to funders and trustees and speak persuasively to supporters. I enjoy introducing people to new experiences, skills and activities encouraging participation and helping people to engage with an activity at the level they are comfortable with.Public EngagementI have held public facing roles for over 20 years and enjoy encouraging people to get involved in community projects and learn about the natural world. I am good at connecting with people and encouraging them to work to their strengths.Team & Partnership WorkingI am happy to work independently and am used to prioritising and planning my workload in collaboration with line management. I will willingly take responsibility for areas of work and progress them from start to finish. I also enjoy being part of a team helping and supporting where I can. With extensive experience in working with partner organisations I understand the importance of ensuring all partners have successful outcomes from collaborative working.Working With VolunteersI have both been a volunteer since my teens and worked alongside volunteers all my working life. I understand the benefits volunteers bring to organisations as well as the need to ensure that they are working in safe conditions and feel valued.
