Leading an engagement and outreach team to support tangible results on ocean conservation. Protecting the health of our oceans and a sustainable marine economy has never been more important. Through shared knowledge, innovative capacity building and a collective willingness, Canada will achieve it’s target of 25% conservation by 2025 and 30% by 2030.---I look forward to working across DFO and federal departments, with Indigenous and coastal communities, deeply engaged stakeholders, and with different levels of government to achieve Canada’s ocean conservation targets. This opportunity unites my values, academic background in environmental science and public engagement and my diverse experience building successful programs across government. I have managed policy and strategic stakeholder engagement for significant changes in Canada’s strategy on responsible business conduct in the natural resource sector. My leadership style of listening and planning for results supported a new business model for Global Affairs Canada regional network and with the Canadian Foreign Service Institute. Drawing on more than fifteen years managing at Canadian universities, I was proud to lead on Canada's early International Education Strategy which now reflects the significant potential of both inbound and outbound students, contributing to global diplomacy, innovation, skilled labour shortages and billions injected in Canada’s economy. When working with clients and stakeholders, I bring diverse perspectives from my work at Global Affairs Canada, Ontario’s Ministry of Natural Resources and the Canadian university sector. International programming experience has refined my global competencies working throughout India, China, Middle East, Africa and key markets of Europe and the Americas. Portfolios included manager of international marketing, manager of international partnerships and student programs, inter-cultural programming and Chair of the CIS Canadian Higher Education Committee.Outside the office? Find me paddling remote canoe routes, traveling the globe, skiing, snowshoeing, volunteering for any number of programs or making honey with our kids and family of bees!
