Created a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization as an extension of our Leadership Huntsville/Madison County Connect Class 17 project. Our 13-member Board of Directors raises money throughout the year through events and other fundraising activities to grant patients with life threatening illnesses trips to the beach. In partnership with Hospice Family Care and Huntsville Hospital Foundation, Susie's Wish also asks for donations of beach condos to grant to patients and their families. Susie's Wish is named in memory of WAFF 48 News reporter Susie Edwards who died in 2010 from cancer at the age of 32. Her last wish had been to go to the beach. As of November 2015, Susie's Wish has sent 15 patients to the beach.
