Research in the field of Operational Research and Artificial Intelligence, specifically focusing on Routing Optimization Problems. The methods used include heuristics, Mathematical Programming, and Machine Learning. The fruits of this effort include:• 6/2023: the participation of our team and the presentation of a newly proposed problem and algorithm at the 10th International Conference on Energy, Sustainability, and Climate Crisis (ESCC) in Heraklion, Greece.• 2/2023: the publication of a paper titled "An Adaptive Memory Matheuristic for the Set Orienteering Problem" in the prestigious European Journal of Operational Research (Q1 in the field, 4 stars in ABS list, impact factor of 6).• 7/2022: the participation and presentation of our matheuristic at the international EURO 2022 conference in Helsinki, Finland.Currently working on a new optimization paper that combines heuristic and machine learning methodologies.

Mandatory military service

Internship in the fields of Machine Learning and Analytics. At Deloitte, I was placed in a highly technical role, that gave me the opportunity to capitalize on my knowledge of Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering and Data Analytics. Also, it was crucial to incorporate into my work the business-oriented way of thinking that I developed throughout my studies. Specifically:• I created an Assortment Analysis Algorithm: written in Python, based on analytical Methodologies.• I worked on a Marketing Return On Investment Algorithm: wrote code in Python and incorporated Open Source Software.• Created a draft proposal with potential AI and Analytics Projects for a large client.• Assisted to a project in the financial sector with my knowledge in Capital Markets and Finance.

Assisting in the efficient operation of the men’s volleyball team on the home matchdays. The tasks of the job included:• Helping and communicating with the players.• Arranging the entrance of spectators, also usually in charge of cash desk.• Preparing the court for the matches, through collaboration with various stakeholders (referees, doctors, TV cameramen etc.)This was my first working experience, and could not be more constructive, as I absorbed many things that have stuck with me until today. First, I learned how to handle difficult situations with professionalism. Also, I figured out the challenges and the way to collaborate with many people, from different fields, towards a specific goal. Additionally, I understood the importance of seeing things from the other person's perspective – something necessary when coming in contact with hundreds of people. Last but not least, I learned how to work with a supervisor and with people that have the know-how of the job.
