Georgios (George) Sofianos is an entrepreneur who believes that through innovation and education we can democratize high quality healthcare.Inspired by his family’s legacy in international business, he relocated to Bucharest in 1997 and took over the reins of the newly established venture in Romania. Nowadays the SOFMEDICA Group has direct presence in six EU countries with investments focused on healthcare: Medical Technology against life-threatening diseases, Precision Medicine through high-end Imaging & Genetic Testing, Training for Healthcare Professionals and Development of Healthcare Buildings. George is a graduate of the School of Law, Economics & Political Sciences of the National University of Athens (Law) and of the Harvard Business School (Presidents Program in Leadership). Apart from his native Greek, he is fluent in English, German and Romanian.Passionate about lifelong learning, George has created post graduate programs and scholarships for the benefit of students and young graduates of Medical and Engineering Schools. He is currently sitting in advisory boards of companies & organizations active in New Europe and is a co-founder of Cleverage Venture Capital and of the Young Presidents Organization Romania Chapter.
