Profile bio

About Georgios Xenakis Micfor

I am a forest ecophysiologist whose research focuses on the impacts of forest management and drought on carbon, water and energy fluxes from forest ecosystems. My recent research focuses on the physiological responses of young trees during drought recovery. I have many years of experience in ecophysiological process-based modelling, and I developed the 3PGN model. I am interested in developing an IoT network of sensors for real-time drought monitoring, and how to apply modern technologies for graphical and musical representation of data for public engagement and education.

Listed skills include Climate Change, Ecology, Gis, Forestry, and 45 others.

Senior Scientist

Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom

My research focus is to investigate the ecophysiological responses of young trees from repeated droughts and develop methodologies for water-stress monitoring. I also continue my research on monitoring carbon, water, and .energy fluxes from coniferous plantations and exploring the loss in productivity from future drought events using process-based modelling.
