I am a partner in the law firm of Richards Buell Sutton LLP, and the Chair of the firm's Intellectual Property Practice Group. I am also a member of the firm's Employment Practice Group and have over 20 years of experience in the areas of intellectual property, licensing, and employment law. I have lectured and presented at a number of seminars, conferences and organizations, including the Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM), the WestLink Innovation Network, the Pacific Rim Advisory Council, the University of British Columbia's Industry Liaison Office, the British Columbia Trial Lawyers Association, Insight Information, and the Continuing Legal Education Society of British Columbia. In 2003 I was awarded the Canadian Government's Deputy Minister Pride and Recognition Award for outstanding achievement in the conduct and strategic management of a complex aboriginal lawsuit that was ultimately brought to a successful conclusion with a unanimous decision of the Supreme Court of Canada.
