Regional Operations Manager from July 2016 to November 2017 for financial and operational leadership and management of the Warwick, Riverton, Murgon and Tamaree lime and limestone mining and processing operations in QLD, the bentonite clay mining and processing operation in Miles and magnetite screening operation in Mackay and the Queensland regional maintenance team. Successfully managed the divestment of the Mackay magnetite operation in 2017. In December 2017 I was requested to lead the Rockhampton magnesia mine and processing plant and ramp up and recommision the operations to meet the sudden global demand for magnesia products. This included recruitment of over 70 employees, engagement of mining contractors and increasing annual mining from a 4 day operation of 1.2mtpa to a 24/7 operation of 3.5mtpa. Recommissiong of 2 x multi-hearth furnaces, 2 x vertical shaft furnaces and 2 electric arc furnaces at the Parkhurst magensia processing plant. Responsibities also include the Murgon, Tamaree and Calliope lime and limestone mines and processing plant, 8 direct management reports and over 240 employees.

North Stradbroke Island, Australia

Responsible for operational management of the North Stradbroke Island Enterprise and Yarraman mineral sand dredge and dry mining operations and the NSI Silica Glass plant. Responsibilites included leadership and management of all aspects of safe operations, engineering, maintenance and rehabilitation on NSI. Direct reports included Mine Manager x 2, Engineering Manager, Maintenance Superintendent, Environment & Rehabilitation Manager and Office Administrator, with 150 plus employees and mining contractors. Provide leadership and technical support for the planned Yarraman mine closure in 2015.

North Stradbroke Island, Australia

Mine Manager and Site Senior Executive for the North Stradbroke Island Enterprise dredge and dry mine mineral sand operations. Leading a team of over 65 employees and contractors in safe dredge and dry mining operations and processing with annual production of over 20 million tonnes at production rates of over 3,000tph. Responsible for the safe leadership and management of 6 direct reports covering all aspects of operations, maintenance and mine planning. Provided technical direction and support to the Technical Services team in all areas of mine planning and design. Member of the Sibelco Mineral Sands Performance Team that provided strategic and business objectives to the mineral sand operations. Reported directly to the General Manager Mineral Sands.

North Stradbroke Island

Responsible for leading a team of mining engineers (3), geologists (2), hydrogeologists (1), surveyors (3) and drilling teams in all aspects of Mineral sand dredge and dry mine planning for the Enterprise and Yarraman mines on North Stradbroke Island. Responsible person for reserves and resources under JORC guidelines. In 2008/2009 completed mine designs and options analysis to combine the Enterprise South and Enterprise North into a single mine resulting in a NPV increase of AUD$20m over the Project Sustain base case option. Successfully led the technical team to defend the Project Sustain Enterprise mine path design from the first QLD Government attempt to restrict/limit the mine life and area able to be mined to ensure maximum retained value for Sibelco and its shareholders.

Responsible for mine plans, designs and optimisation of the North Stradbroke Island Enterprise and Yarraman mineral sands dredge and dry mining operations. Direct supervision, mentoring and leadership of two Mine Planners completing short and medium term designs. Provide technical support to geologists completing drilling and resource/reserve modelling. Assistance with annual Plan of Operations and JORC reporting of resources and reserves.
